Busy Day

Today was a busy day for my little angel.
First, she spent her morning chatting with Mimi . . .
"Hey, Mimi, check out these cute flowers on my outfit . . . I love these pink ones"

"Oh, gag me!"

Then her 1st check-up at the doctor to make sure she was gaining weight. She was back up to her birth weight + an ounce (7 lb 13 oz). Both Madelyn and Marek had gained an extra pound almost!

Susan and Sara came by to meet little Miss Micah. She was very sleepy from her busy day. :)

Madelyn is like a little mother. I love seeing her and her brother love on their sister.

I could eat both of them right up!

Ava's Blessing

On Sunday (the day after getting discharged and a bit too early, apparently) Stephanie and Chris had Ava's blessing. We didn't make it to the church but we joined everyone at Nana and Papa's house.
Loading everyone into the car! I need a bigger SUV. . .

Uncle Jason getting to hold Micah for the first time . . .
Stephanie and the Blessed Ava . . .

My three . . . big, middle, little . . .
Marek is so much like his momma. He grouped all the cars together by color . . .
Aunt Kelly with Dylan and Marek . . .
Baby and tired and sore momma .. .
Marek ate an entire cupcake in about 2 seconds. He literally shoved about half of it into his mouth at once. Apparently daddy thinks this is funny . . .
The next few shots show how sugar affects my children. They don't get sugar at home that often . . .
Climbing on papa .. .
Papa trying to read his ipod with Marek on his shoulders . . .

Sugar HIGH!
Sweet kisses to papa . . .
"Hi, Papa!"
Micah listening intently to her daddy . . .
They can't get enough of their baby sister!

Her first outing at not even a week old! Great success!

Home

Coming home from the hospital is nice but it's a double edged sword. I went from being waited on hand and foot to being the one taking care of everyone else. This isn't easy after you've been cut open, drugged, sleep deprived, etc. . . I was so fortunate to have mimi here to help!
Daddy burping baby Micah . . .
Madelyn holding her baby sis after asking no less than 100 times! She is SUCH a big helper!

Micah Elizabeth Oley is Here!

After 8 1/2 months, our newest little angel made her debut into this cold, bright, loud world!
Tom and Aunt Kelly getting scrubbed up and ready to join me in the OR . . .
Micah is born at 10:24 pm on October 8th! Look at all that HAIR!

Her hair was so dark and long!

7 lbs 12 oz and 19" long . . .
Daddy talking to his new little girl . . .

Counting all her fingers . . .Giving Miss Micah sweet kisses . . .
Daddy holding his girl for the first time . . .
I finally get to see her!

Then I finally got to hold my new angel.

Only hours old - dreaming and smiling about all her angels. . .
Ok - so I had to try on all the hair accessories . . . notice I didn't have any clips - I really wasn't expecting all that hair!

The kids came on Friday to meet their little sister . . .
Daddy getting some more lovin' . . .
Everyone getting a good look at our baby girl . . .
HAIR! And no, I did not have heart burn as bad as with the other two!
Sweet princess.
Nana and Papa fighting over who gets to hold her . . .
(It appears Nana won . . .)
More hair accessories!
So comfy. Makes me want to crawl in there with her . . .
Getting ready to go home!

When I went into the hospital on Thursday, it was in the 80's. When we left on Saturday, it was in the 50's! Needless to say, I wasn't prepared with our going home outfits! Thankfully, Nana and Papa brought up this little jumper/costume complete with a tail! It was perfect and kept our little princess warm. :)
All snug in her car seat . . .

Can't wait to get her home.
Three really is a charm. This pregnancy was my most uneventful and so was the delivery! Thank you God for yet another beautiful blessing.

Fall Weather

This beautiful fall weather had us all itching to go outside and enjoy it! So we all headed out to the park near our house on Saturday - even me at 800 months pregnant!
The kids had been wanting to test out their new helmets and get on their bikes.

Daddy checkin' out the tires . . .

And they're off!

Marek is a little speed racer. Madelyn is my cautious child . . .

Even Brock enjoyed the day with some other dog friends! Sniffin' butts . . .

Ok - so this may be gross but it made me giggle. Marek had to go potty and, well, this is the tree he picked. hehehe Little boys are so funny.

They even kept their helmets on while swinging.

And feeding the ducks . . .

It was a great day. It failed to induce any labor though . . . argh!

Micah's Bedding

. . . is almost finished!! Mimi just left today :( but while she was here she finished Micah's crib dust ruffle and the bumper (just needs some bows to hold it in place). I made the fitted sheet using a very easy tutorial I found online. So much fun! I absolutely love it - mimi did an AMAZING job! The only things left are the bows for the bumper and the comforter. I have so much extra material so we're going to do some fun pillows and such.
Here is Mimi in the middle of making the bumper. Marek is "helping" . . .
Here it is all put together . . .

The inside of the bumper is the softest minky fabric and the crib sheet is also so very soft. Makes me want to crawl inside and snuggle up!

Mimi left enough material from the dust ruffle to make the ruffles on the top of the bumper and it turned out beautiful!

To think I bought all of the material at one fabric store ! When I picked out Marek's bedding fabrics, I went to about 10 different stores in Dallas on a Saturday while I was 800 thousand months pregnant with him. I gathered all the fabric samples and made another trip out on Sunday to buy all the material. Not this time - I wasn't in the mood to trek all over Dallas with Madelyn so it was a one stop shop!
This is a picture of a quilt that Kara (from work) made for Micah! I just LOVE it and the colors are absolutely perfect. I told her pink and brown and she picked the exact pink. It is BEAUTIFUL and so special. :) Thank you, Kara!
On a totally unrelated subject . . .
At bible study last night, I met another mom who was pregnant with her 3rd baby (4 1/2 yr old girl and 18 month old boy at home) due October 14th!! She had a baby girl this morning at 5:15! So bizarre! So I'm thinking if Micah doesn't come this weekend - it will be October 7th. :) Just because.

Indian Princess

Tommy does "Indian Princess" with Madelyn and they have had their first campout planned for this past weekend for quite some time. Madelyn has been counting down the days. Yet another reason I was worried about Micah arriving so early and on the day they were supposed to leave, nonetheless! I had already decided that I was going to make them go even if Micah came. . .

Thankfully, I didn't have to make that call! After dance on Friday, Tommy and Madelyn headed to Lake Ray Roberts for their first Indian Princess camping weekend.

They came up with their Indian names: Tiger Feather and Thundering Cloud (hehe), set up the tent, and then mingled with the rest of the daddy's and daughters.

Tommy sent me pictures throughout the day on Saturday with all of their different activities. After hearing stories and seeing some of the pictures, it appears that Madelyn's name should have been "Climbing Bear" because she was climbing every tree on the camp grounds!

A hike and walking stick search . . .

After picking out her walking stick - they painted them . . .

It looks like Thundering Cloud needs some picture taking guidance . . .
Group shot of the girls on Saturday night before the big bonfire and initiation of new tribe members. . . Just before bedtime on their last night . . .

Marek was so excited to see his big sister on Sunday!

I got to hear all the stories and fun that she had with her daddy. These are memories that she'll carry with her forever. Thank you daddy for being so wonderful and taking such good care of my girl.

Fabrics and Hospital stay . . .

So, I thought Micah was going to make her debut the day after Mari's birthday. On Thursday I had lunch with my boss and Susan at La Hacienda Ranch. I've been craving Tortilla Soup with my friend Susie Q for quite sometime so I finally got my fix. It was a bit spicey but I didn't think anything of it. Durning lunch, I thought Micah was doing some strange and very uncomfortable posing in my uterus (a.k.a her personal jungle gym).

I got home and was working at my computer when I noticed that what I thought was uncomfortable acrobatics were actually contractions and they were happening pretty frequently. So I started timing them at about 3:00 - 9 min, 6 min, 7 min, 9 min, 6 min, etc . . . I decided after about an hour of those that I should lay on my left side like a good little preggers and see if they subsided. 5 min, 6 min, 5 min, 4 min. . . Ok so I'll call the doctor because I know with Marek they didn't want me to labor/contract with a previous c-section scar.

The nurse said "ummm - you need to head to the triage and have them check you out". I said, "ok - no one is home right now so I'll just wait for someone to get here to take me". To which she replied "You need to call 911 and go". Geez. I couldn't get ahold of Tom for over an hour (grrrr) so I waited for Mari to get back from dance with Madelyn. It was about 5:30ish when she got home. I was walking around crying and finishing packing my hospital bags. Poor Mari was white knuckled the entire way to the hospital which isn't close . . . Nana and Papa had come up to the hospital and Tommy showed up soon after.

They got me all hooked up at the hospital and the contractions were steady at 4 - 5 min apart then went to 2 - 3 min apart. They decided to admit me and keep me overnight for observation. I declined any pain pills and tried to tough it through the night. I think I would have needed the pain medicine for the hospital mattress and pillows. It's amazing how you forget how uncomfortable they are . . .
Mari took the kids home and got them all ready for bed. :)

Through the night my contractions subsided and I was dismissed at 7:00 that morning. I got home just in time for a conference call. :)
Mari said that when she woke Madelyn up for school, she popped right up and said "Is Micah here?!" It normally takes a good 5 minutes to get her going in the morning.

We talked to Mimi and Dziadek on the way home and upon hearing of our near birth, Mimi headed out her door in Houston to come help!

So no Micah yet but I'm glad she's still safe and sound and moving and stretching like she owns my uterus . . . I guess she kind of does for the time being . . .

I had mentioned in an earlier post that I found the materials for Micah's bedding. Well - here's a sneak peak at all the fabric samples.

Mimi has already started and has finished the dust ruffle! It's so beautiful! I can't wait to see everything finished and put together!

Mari's Birthday & 36 Weeks!

On Maris' birthday I was exactly 36 weeks! I'm feeling every bit of it let me tell you . . .
For Mari's birthday we did the "traditional" (2nd time now) dinner at Boi Na Braza.
Here's Mari blowing out the candle on her banana bar (with a little help from Madelyn) at home after dinner . . .

Here I am in all my largeness . . .I try to take comfort in the fact that I've done this twice before and I know that the weight eventually comes off and my nose will eventually be back to it's normal size . . . some day . . . hopefully soon . . .
