I Scream, You Scream . . .

We ALL scream for Ice Cream!

One of Madelyn's favorite things to do is go to Braum's with her daddy. Kelly was over with the boys last Friday so Madelyn let me "sub in" for daddy since her cousins were there!

Madelyn's flavor of choice: Cherry Chocolate Chip - it's her favorite! Almost cuter than seeing her wolf it down is hearing her say it!

Making themselves right at home . . .

We got back to our house and after bath time it was story time! Kelly, Tom, and I all sat around and took turns reading books. The kids acted everything out.

What a fun day!

New Park!

We took the kids to a new park near Kelly's house last Friday. The weather was perfect and the park was a hit!

The playground was great but . . .

. . . they had the most fun running up and down the hill next to it!
Dylan and Landon's cousins, Olivia and Connor, also joined us with Aunt Jenny and Grandma Kay!
They were all exhausted by the end of it!
Marek started to nod offf while swinging . . .

He eventually fell fast asleep. He looked so comfy I wished I could have joined him!

Girls Trip!

I took a much needed girls trip with my Hoochie Mamas to Austin and San Antonio!
We left last Thursday and stayed overnight in Austin. 6th street was so much fun! We felt like we were in college again . . . but much older . . . and wiser!

We were a little stiff the first night but loosened up for the rest of the trip!

I think the wine helped to loosen us up! You'd think we had planned on being gone for 2 weeks!
Friday night in San Antonio . . .
By Saturday night we were sore and tired from dancing but we persevered!

We had so much fun - it was so good for the soul! I feel blessed that God has given me such great friends in my life.

9 Month Check Up

Marek went in for his 9 month check up on 4/11. I can't believe he'll be a year in just 3 months!

Stats:

• Weight: 20 lbs ~ 50th percentile
• Height: 28 1/4" ~ 50th percentile

He's perfectly proportioned!

Assisted Walking

We went over to play with our Whisenant cousins a couple weeks ago - new toys! Marek loved this toy he could walk behind!

What a little show off!

All Boy

Marek has covered every square inch of our house on all fours. He had also started going vertical! He's been climbing on things for a while but I got a little nervous when he flung his leg over his little tent door!

He's already starting to stand for a few seconds on his own - not holding anything. It's only a matter of time . . .

Pedicures

Madelyn and I got pedicures together a couple weeks ago. I love our mother/daughter time - she is so fun to hang out with.

We even matched our outfits!

Madelyn got to pick her own nail color . . .
Our nail tech put cute little flowers on her toes with a tiny gem in the middle. . .

She had already pulled the little gems off her toes by the time we got into the car! That's my girl!

I guess we'll just have to go again very soon . . .

Dancing with Daddy

Madelyn is so smitten with her daddy lately. When I tell her that daddy is on his way home from work, she runs to her room to change into her dance shoes (and lately a dress). She loves to dance with her daddy to the "soft rock" station! Daddy runs in and changes into his "dance clothes" as well! She is very serious about her dancing and is very dramatic - shocker!

What a great daddy!

Fort Worth Severe Weather

We've had some pretty major storms here in the last few weeks. Last week there was a tornado that touched down about 2 miles from our house! It brought with it some serious hail . . .

Most were golf ball sized . . .
Some were almost baseball sized (this was after they had melted some)!

Everyone is safe but we may need the roof looked at . . .

Real Food

Marek has been eating "real" food for a while now. He loves it and he doesn't even mind if everything is mixed together at the end!

Pancakes with Daddy

Madelyn's preschool had a "Pancakes with Daddy" breakfast after the Easter Weekend. Daddy loved it, of course!

More Houston Easter Activities

The weather was beautiful while we were in Houston so we got to hang out by the pool!

Madelyn actually got in the pool - brrrrrrrrrrr!

Gena and I got to visit Jonathan (hair dresser) in Houston! Mimi spoiled me ROTTEN while I was there . . .
Brian and Jessica surprised us all by by coming in!

After church on Sunday, we got back to the house and noticed the Easter Bunny had come and hid eggs!

After the long road trip home - we found that the Easter Bunny had ALSO been to our house in Fort Worth!

It was a great Easter Weekend!
