Pool Fun

The weather this weekend was so perfect. We let the kids play in their little kiddie pool last night and they had a blast!

Marek would just splash as fast as he could with his mouth wide open!
He's been standing up a lot in the middle of the room or where ever with no assistance - I know he'll be off to the races soon!
Trying to spray his sister - it's already started!

Beasley Visit

Bruce and Jennifer came over Saturday night with their 10 week old baby boy Blaze. He was so precious and slept almost the entire evening! Gena and Dan also stopped by which makes Madelyn so very happy!

During dinner Madelyn had to use the restroom. Afterwards, she announced to the table (mainly Dan) that she went "poo poo on the potty" to which everyone said "way to go" and then she added "wanna see my muscles?". That's my girl . . .

Happy Father's Day!

Although it was rainy we stayed in and made the best of the day. I put on my Mr. Fixit hat and rewired the fan and light in our front room and fixed the light in our guest bath!
Madelyn had made a card for Daddy from her and Marek. That's her and Marek on the front and her handwriting (tracing mommy's) . . .

She drew daddy on the inside with a green shirt and brown pants. She actually signed her own name - no tracing!
Happy Father's Day to all the GREAT daddies in our lives!

Blueberry Pancakes

. . . have always been Madelyn's favorite. Now it appears that we have two fans!

Studying the texture . . .
Sharing with his daddy . . . Taste test . . .

He approves!

You can always tell when he's done . . .

Prince Charming

We found a big frog in our back yard this weekend and Madelyn was fascinated with him (or "it" - whatever). We had to act quickly so Brock wouldn't see him!

She squealed everytime he jumped . . .

Ice Cream with the Posts

Stephanie and the kids were over last week and the kids played so well together and then they all actually napped! We took them to Braums as their reward!

They love their junior cones! No cherry chocolate chip so they had to settle for Cookies-n-Cream . . .

Marek was eyeing my sundae . . .

Gymnastics - Beam

Madelyn is getting so good at her little gymnastics routines. It was down to only her and one other boy in her class. For two weeks she was the only one so it was like having private lessons! Another little boy just joined the class last week so they still get a lot of one on one time and they get really worn out! Tuesdays are great nap days!
Here she is on the beam balancing on one foot!

Making sure I'm still looking and sticking her tongue out to concentrate like her daddy . . .

Whisenant Jump House

Madelyn, Dylan and Landon jumping in the new Whisenant Jump House. Theirs has a bigger slide than ours! Why didn't they have cool stuff like this when we were kids?!
Smiley, happy faces . . .
Sweet baby girl. . .

Hours of entertainment . . .

Clever Boy

Marek loves being on the couch, chairs, stairs, etc. Anywhere that is up high and dangerous! It makes me nervous because he's fearless. When he would try to get down - he would just crawl to the edge and keep going if I wasn't there. I started spinning him around and letting him go down feet first so that he would get used to getting down that way. He caught on very quickly and can now maneuver up and down the stairs (with Mommy there, of course) and furniture!
Here he is at Kelly's "backing" down the stairs to the media room . . .

Making sure I'm watching . . .
Success - Yeah!

Marek's Baptism

Well, I finally got Marek baptized! I was so prompt with Madelyn - at 2 months! It was harder to coordinate schedules and everything else this time! At least I got it done before he was one! The day was crazy - I forgot my camera (which NEVER happens) and we didn't get a "formal" picture of us with the Godparents. I'm just glad he's finally baptized!

Here you can see Bradly on the far left (Tommy's cousin, aka the Godfather) and Kelly (Godmother).

Marek was very slippery in his silky little outfit!

Before mass he was entertaining the church with his "wuba wubas".

During mass we had to keep feeding him wagon wheels to keep him quiet!

When it came time to pour the water over his head, he nearly choked Tom hanging on for dear life. He wasn't crazy about being held backwards and upside down above the water with someone pouring it on him . . .

He's not sure what just transpired and why mom is smiling . . .Anointy-nointy!

After the baptism you turn to the congregation and everyone claps. Marek, of course, joined in not realizing it was for him! Or maybe he was clapping because it finally happened . . .

Everyone came over for brunch afterwards. It was great seeing Lynn and Brittany. Brittany is holding baby Will below, Beth and Brad's youngest. John Barry and Kate are their other two and they are absolutely adorable. No pictures though because my brain was shut off!

God Bless!

(A special thanks to Aunt Gena for taking such great pictures on this blessed day!)

Swim Lessons with Cousins!

Madelyn, Marek, Dylan, and Landon all had their swim lessons together last Friday. Marek, Landon, Kelly, and I are all in class together and Dylan and Madelyn did great watching us until it was their turn.
Marek LOVES to swim and can't wait for class!

Dylan and Madelyn listening intently to their swim coach . . .
This week Marek does "splash" jumps into the water getting his face wet (he's already done this!). Madelyn and Dylan do the same!

Brian's Birthday

Uncle Brian celebrated his 12th birthday on June 8. What better place to celebrate than Javier's? Nana and Papa watched the kids overnight at their lake house. We had the whole night to ourselves! We're such wimps -we went home after dinner!

We thought it was just going to be the family and were pleasantly surprised to find some of Brian's friends had joined us! What a FUN night!

I couldn't believe it when I heard Dr. Oley had done a shot! Never before have I ever seen this and neither has Becky! We found out the next day that it was water . . .
The Schreibers were in town and joined us for the festivities! It was so great seeing them again!
Birthday boy and his girl! So cute!

Dr. Oley kept the margaritas flowing all night and picked up the tab for the entire group. We had such a great time -thank you SO much Dr. O and happy Birthday, Brian!

Nana's and Papa Visit

Nana and Papa have had quite the busy travel and vacation schedule lately. Nana just got back from MN where she was looking after Great GranNana. Before that they were in Mexico and Hawaii! As soon as she got home from MN they made their rounds to visit all the grandbabies!

Marek was showing Nana and Papa how he dances (shaking his head) and clapping saying "yeah"!

This picture you can see him standing by himself. He'll let got of something, stand there for a spell, and then slowly get down on his knees to crawl. He'll be walking in no time!

Swim Lessons!

Madelyn and Marek started swim lessons last Friday. Marek did so great - I was a little worried because it's during his nap time but he was a champ! I was also nervous that Marek's and my class started before Maddie's - she had to watch us for 15 min and someone else came to get her and take her to her class. Madelyn did great, I went over everything several times with her before we got there and she could see me through the glass the entire time. She's such a trooper! I have no pics of Marek since I was with him but he was so superb! He kicked and splashed through the entire class!

After Madelyn's class, they call the parents in to see what they learned. Here she is after jumping in to her teacher.

Then her teacher asked if she wanted to go down the slide. I assumed Madelyn would choose this one . . .

Oh, no. She passed that one up and headed for the BIG one . . .

I'm not kidding when I say I nearly had a heart attack/nervous breakdown. I was the neurotic mother yelling "Madelyn STOP". She went underwater for a little longer than either her or I had anticipated. Her teacher is consoling her after scooping her out of the water . . .

I just keep thanking God and telling her how big she is for holding her breath so well. :)
