GNO at the Ballgame!

I got 4 general seats for the Ranger's game on Saturday, May 31st (from work) so Madelyn, Theresa, Gena, and I all headed out for a Girls Night! Madelyn was so excited to be invited out on a girls night - it was such a "big girl" thing to do!
Going up the escalator to our seats . . .

Theresa and me . . .
Madelyn cheering for the Rangers!

My girl and me . . .
When at the ballpark, we must indulge in ballpark food!
Madelyn chompin' into a corn dog . . . Theresa, Me, and Madelyn . . .
Outside at the ballpark with the new stadium in the background . . .

Despite my insatiable migraine, it was a great night had by all! I love Girls Nights!

Nana and Papa's Lake House

We spent Tommy's birthday /Memorial Day weekend at Nana and Papa's lake house. As always, the kids requested a ride on the boat!
We cruised to the "Groggy Dawg". . .
Of course, Madelyn and Marek took turns driving. . .
Such a big girl . . .
My big boy sittin' in the back with Nana . . .

Marek was actually quite content being the co-pilot for most of the trip. . . once he set up post next to Maddie, he didn't move. . .

I think this is when he decided it was his turn . . .

Nana and me . . .
Marek is just in the beginning stages of copying EVERYTHING his big sister does . . . notice him looking over at Madelyn to make sure he's doing everything just right . . .

Deep in thought . . .
We arrived at the Groggy Dawg and the kids went right to the "fish pit". . . We must have spent $10 in fish food (at $0.25 a pop) . . .
Once the fish got boring, it was on to buckling and unbuckling life vest buckles . . .
Waiting for more fish food . . .

Marek doing his impression of a "scarey monster" . . .

Yikes, scarey . . .
I think it turned into a sugar high . . .
Marek decided it was his turn to drive the boat on the way home. He even pushed Papa away when he tried to help!
The next morning, Madelyn got up to feed the ducks . . .
My tired boy slept in . . .Sweet morning hugs and kisses!

After breakfast, the kids swam in the little blow up pool - hours of entertainment . . .
Always the daredevil . . .

On Sunday, a friend was having a Memorial Day party in Aledo. We left Nana's and Papa's and stopped by for dinner and to let the kids play for a bit. No pictures from the party, just a picture of my exhausted kids on our way home.

Happy Memorial Day

and

Happy Birthday Tommy!!

Madelyn's Last Day of Preschool

We got off the plane on Thursday and headed straight to Madelyn's school for her last day celebration!

We got there JUST in time. Madelyn was all smiles to see her mommy and daddy. We sure missed our babies but really appreciated our alone time.
Madelyn and Ms. Lisa . . . it's always so sad to say "good-bye" to the teachers every year. We've been so blessed with great, kind, and loving teachers. We sure will miss you, Ms. Lisa!

It's hard to believe that Madelyn will be in Pre-K next year!!

Slow down, little girl, slow down. . .

Sarasota

Tom and I got to take a trip - just the two of us - to Sarasota, Fl, May 18 - 22. It was a celebration of our 6 years of marriage (May 18th) but it was a conference for Tommy so a little work for him. They put us up at the Ritz-Carlton. We felt very spoiled all week.
We arrived a day early and took advantage of the break in the rain and played a round of golf.

On one of the back 9, we hit our balls right next to each other!

We had such a great trip! A special THANK YOU to MIMI for watching Madelyn and Marek while we away. We LOVE and APPRECIATE you!

"New" Cousins and Baseball!

Tommy's cousin, Theresa, and her family moved to Coppell (so close to us!) and her boys sometimes play baseball near our house. Willy had a game Friday night so we took the kids to see him play! Those Solari boys are amazing athletes!
Daddy had bought and opened a "fun dip" before I could even say "high fructose corn syrup!" . . .
You can actually SEE the sugar hitting his brain . . .
Pouting because he wanted more . . .
The star of the game swinging his mighty bat . . .
What a fun night - looking forward to many evenings spent with our "new" cousins!

Making Playdough!

Sofia taught the kids how to make play doh when Nana came to visit on Friday at lunch!
It's so much fun to make a mess!!

Marek is such a big helper!

Afterwards, they molded them into different shapes, baked them, and then painted them!

May Fest

On May 4th we took the kids to May Fest in Fort Worth. It was so hot that day but the kids had so much fun.
The kids checking out the Borden Cow . . .

Madelyn got to do some Spin Art while daddy stood in line for us at the face painting booths . . .

Madelyn with her finished product and just in time for the face painting! Daddy was at the front of the line . . .
She chose what she wanted . . . can you guess?!
Face painting makes my girl sleepy . . .
A very satisfied little Tiger!

We met Marek and daddy in the sand pit - Marek was loving it! Boys and dirt - I'll never understand . . .
Marek headed over to the baby section . . .
We started to notice that Madelyn was a bit feverish so daddy went to get the car. We had bought quite a bit of art so I waited with the kids. Marek was flexing his muscles for the passers by . . .
Madelyn just passed out . . . poor girl. . .
It was such a fun and HOT day!
