Marek's 1st Haircut!

So, after the bib episode at his birthday party - I decided we needed to get rid of his mullet! We went to Cool Cuts 4 Kids and he did so great! I was actually quite surprised.

Warming up for the big cut . . .

Goodbye Mullet!
With his Superman Cape and Baby Einstein video playing, he was ready to go. . .
This made me really nervous . . .
Such a handsome little man!
All done and no tears - a very successful feat! Yeah!

Last Day of Summer Dance Lessons

Madelyn had her last day of summer camp dance lessons. It will be nice to have a little down time from driving all over the place and finally letting Marek have a morning nap . . .

Next to Madelyn in every picture is her friend, Kylie, from preschool. They will be taking dance lessons together again starting in September . . .

They're so sweet together. My little baby girl is growing up so fast.

Marek's Birthday Party!

I finally had my poor baby's birthday party last Saturday. It's been a busy month for us. He didn't care - he loved every second of it . . .

Nana's famous theme cake . . .

Getting a little taste of frosting . . . Getting his hair caught in his bib he DIDN'T like. Poor auntie Stephanie was devastated because she put it on him. It's really my fault because he needed a hair cut . . .
He was over it pretty quickly when he saw the cake infront of him . . .
After cake Marek showed off his new walking ability to everyone. After he went to bed, Madelyn, Ashlynn, and Chase all went slippin' and slidin'! They had a hard time with the concept of sliding on their bellies so Tom and Stephanie "slung" them down the slip-n-slide . . .

Ashlynn finally got it . . .

Needless to say, they had fun . . .

Sweet babies . . .

Happy 1st birthday my precious son!!

Swimming and Volleyball

Two Saturdays ago (that's right - I'm behind) Tommy was invited to play volleyball at a his friend, Mike's, house. They have a full sand volleyball court and also a pool in their backyard. Madelyn, Marek and I swam with Tina (Mike's wife) and their 2 year old little boy. He was an AMAZING little swimmer which made Madelyn less apprehensive. He swam completely on his own - no floaties or anything! Madelyn was imitating him instantly - jumping in the water and dunking her head under.
The volleyball court - we need one of these in our backyard someday. . .
Madelyn jumping off the diving "rock". I forgot her swim suit. :) We had the person interested in buying our house over that morning and they were negotiating prices and signing papers so we were running late. I had all of her stuff set out but forgot to pack it. Good thing she still fits into Marek's swim diapers . . .
The shiner on her head - this picture doesn't even do it justice. She fell onto our kitchen tile while holding onto something with both hands and didn't let it go. Her head took the brunt of the fall. I know it's good that the bump came out instead of going in but my goodness, it looked so painful. It became a magnet and she smacked it in the pool also. Poor girl. It didn't stop her from swimming, though . . .
She found some goggles and loved being able to see underwater . . .
Marek swam for a little while and then took a long nap which gave me a nice break . . .
Madelyn just swam and swam . . .
Except for when she took a break to watch daddy play volleyball . . .

Another fabulous weekend!

Fire and Water . . .

At swim lessons last week, the a big fire truck was pulling up as we were walking into the building . . .
Turns out there was no fire - just a faulty fire extinguisher. Dylan and Madelyn were enthralled with the firemen. . . What I love about swim lessons . . .
Madelyn isn't actually sleeping but she wanted me to take a picture of her, too :)

Marek's Walking!

Marek has been taking steps here and there for the past couple of weeks but this past weekend, he started walking! Madelyn started walking at 11 months and I thought that was late! He still prefers to be held by momma but he's getting around great. He loves this whole new perspective of his world. He's getting so big . . .

Great Weekend part 2

Sunday was another beautiful day - a bit warmer than Saturday . . . We headed over to the Whisenants again after breakfast. Madelyn snuggled up with uncle Jason right away . . .

Tom decided to go get a Slip-n-Slide for the kids - what a blast! I'm not sure who had more fun - daddy or the kids! Here he is giving Maddie a little push . . .

Dylan's crash landing . . .

It was the perfect day for a slip-n-slide!

Marek took a long nap and then woke up hungry! He started with some guacamole . . .

Tommy wore himself out playing with those kids all day . . .
Playing tag - looks like they caught him . . .

They took a little break to have some juice bars . . .

Ahhhh - summer . . .

We ended the day with some more tag (good excercise!) and a pony ride by uncle Jason!

Thank you Lord for such a beautiful day and weekend!
